1. “The President has made several trips to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and several other hospitals to visit wounded soldiers and personally award Purple Heart medals. Although I do take photographs of him meeting these soldiers, we make these pictures only available to the soldiers themselves. Here, he’s about to enter the room of a wounded soldier who received a Purple Heart.” (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

U.S. soldiers with the 82nd Airborne Division line up to participate in the 14th annual Operation Toy Drop at Pope Field, N.C.. The toy drop is an annual event where U.S. soldiers donate new, unwrapped toys for a chance to train and jump with international jumpmasters. The donated toys are distributed to underprivileged children within the community.

  5. “I spoke to Mrs. Johnson about this and she said he heard those protesters marching up and down in front of the White House saying “hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today” and it was a wound in his heart. He suffered terribly, she said, over the fact that so many boys were dying.”

::HELP BUILD HOMES FOR OUR DISABLED VETERANS::so my dad started this charity called “homes for veterans”. he’s always had a passion for war veterans and has always been very patriotic, and taught me and my brother the same. both of my grandfathers were WWII vets, and thankfully, although one has passed, came out in basically the same condition they entered. unfortunately, many, many, many veterans return from war disabled, in wheel chairs, paralyzed etc. this deprives them of their right and ability to earn their own money. my family & i want to help these veterans live with out the stress & worry of a MORTGAGE. if each and every one of my followers could at least check out the website & send it to a few people that would be amazing. the cause is really great, these men fought for our freedom, some of them against their will. PLEASE REBLOG TO SIMPLY SPREAD THE WORD, even if you cannot donate.
